The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Birthright Quilt will be opened with an Exhibition and public display of the first stage of the quilting on December 9th at 2pm.

The Koorie Heritage Trust Gallery is located at:
295 King St (cnr Lt Lonsdale St), Melbourne

The Exhibition will be opened by Auntie Joy Wandin Murphy, Indigenous Elder from the Wurrundjeri people of Victoria.

There will also be a performance by Ross Hannaford. The film “Birth Rites” will be previewed together with a documentary piece on the making of the quilt, interviews and stories around birth.

After the exhibition Birthquilt will be an ongoing project.
